Yesterday I awoke to quite the lightning event!! Between flashes of lightning that brightened the skies every minute or so, to deep rumbles, there was no further chance of sleep. Then at 4:30 am, the rain began to pour. The south east part of the city received hail, the south west portion had flash floods, but we were fortunate to receive just rain. It cleared off before 11 am and made for a sunny, warm, and muggy day.
A photo of a car caught during the flash flood below the White Mud overpass was floating around Facebook and if you'd like, you can see it on the
Edmonton Journal page.
I hope all is well with everyone out there. Have a terrific weekend!

Oh, such weather this year! We're waiting with bated breath for rain tonight and Saturday, but it's not looking good. I'm glad you only received rain and not hail or other nastiness. I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.
Hope all this rain has a chance to soak into the ground where it is much needed, I'm sure. Never been in this driver's situation but have driven through water that probably was not safe.
Glad you're fine. We also live in a area that doesn't have as many weather mishaps as other parts of the city does. It has been raining here for days and much needed, but I'm starting to feel a bit waterlogged.
Wasn't that amazing - and now parts of the Yellowhead were flooded yesterday. We had gentle rain all day and overnight too - perfect for the crops and garden. Have a good day shirley!
Hey there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing months of
hard work due to no data backup. Do you have any methods to stop hackers?
