Embracing Beauty: Beaumaris Lake, Edmonton

My son K, his fiancé C, and I visited this gorgeous lake Thursday.  It was late afternoon, the light was at its best for photos and so the photographer took their engagement photos while I took some nature shots (above).  This is only minutes away from our house but until Thursday I had no idea it existed and that it was so extraordinary.  The perimeter of the lake is planted with dogwood, Amur maple, oak, ash, mountain ash, spruce and pines and more.  It's a delight to the senses and the perfect place for a stroll or dog walk.  Runners love it too!

I am so glad you have found this haven of beauty and peace so close to your home. I hope you go there in winter as well to capture the wonders of frost and snow.

Tsuki,

I'm so glad to have discovered this lake! It promises to be very hot here today with a high forecast of 27 Celsius. Such a contrast to two weeks ago when we had snow!

Eileeninmind,

This lake is sure to be a favourite spot now that I've discovered it and the best thing is it is close by. Who knew?

Arija,

Yes I do intend to visit it year-round and to share the beauty of the seasons.

Viera,

We arrived at the perfect time of day. The light was soft and glowed beautifully, illuminating the hues of autumn.
