Looking out from the balcony on the 23rd floor of a downtown high rise, you can see a fog bank on the horizon. Rather an interesting view from here, isn't it.
Sky Watch Friday features sky shots from all over the world. Stop in for a new view.

That fog is rolling in like a tsunami, unfortunately that grey layer above it is concentrated smog. I wonder where that has come from?
Very good view.
Regards and best wishes
yes, it's an interesting view, and lovely too. I live close to a Great Lake, and there's often a fog/cloud bank right over the lake in the mornings, and the skies are clear away from there. I love seeing it. just another phenomenon of nature! happy weekend to you Shirley.
Where I come from that's usually smog. ;) Neat photos.
An incredible view, to be sure!
Nice cityscape!!
Pixellicious
Great Skywatch shots. I love watching fog - I lose 1,000 feet in elevation driving to work, and a few times each year I'll see fog below me like a blanket and then drive into it. I need to take photos of that one of these days.
You are right Arija and Clipped Wings, the layer above the fog is smog, as seen here as a grey layer above the fog. The fog had settled over the river, following its meandering path through the edge of the downtown core. It is quite the view! You should see the sunsets from here!
Dear Clipped Wings, I have been following your blog for some time now, but cannot leave a comment. Your blog won't let me! Sufficeth it to say, I get a real kick out of it! :)
It is an interesting view of your lovely city
