Living Reflections

Last weekend we visited Long Lake Provincial Park.  The water was rather cool, the day a warm 24 Celsius, the company the best (family), and the location GORGEOUS!  Above is a family of mallards, a mother and seven ducklings.  You see her standing on watch above.

The evening light is softer and the beach has been pretty much deserted with the exception of a grandmother and granddaughter and me, of course.  This is a boater's paradise.

Of course I am now longing to return.  A day just isn't enough of a break from the big city.

Getting Out in Nature Can be the Greatest Respite Ever

Yesterday we took a trip to Long Lake Provincial Park as a family.  All but two of our kids were able to make it; so, with significant others in attendance, we were a total of eight soaking up the rays, enjoying the views, and relaxing together.  Oh, we played beach volleyball, threw the frisbee and football, watched J fly his helicopter, played in the water and went for walks too.  A perfect combination of play and relaxation.  Some of us are a little sunburnt and/or sore today from using muscles we'd forgotten we had.

Several of us fell asleep during the drive home.  Contentedly played out.

A perfect day.
