Which is Real?

As daylight hours dwindle and the slant of the sun catches the south window at a new angle that only late fall can bring, perfect shadows become visible within.  The rays carry a new warm tone of autumn yellow as they peek through the louvers of the blind, warming the walls within in a new hue.  Another glory in autumn.

This photo was unaltered and was taken late last fall.  I interrupted a game of cards on a Sunday afternoon to take it amidst groans and exclamations, "there she goes again", I captured this rare (never before appreciated prior to blogging) and warm scene to share for Shadow Shot Sunday http://heyharriet.blogspot.com/ and SOOC (Straight Out of the Camera) http://www.murrieta365.com/ .   Happy Sunday!!

Mantle Marvelous

Again from the Festival of Trees, here is an assortment of mantles on display.

Some have been awarded ribbons in the design competition as above and below.

I like this last one.  With all its sparkles and lights, it fulfills the Festival Theme of Sparkle and Shimmer.

I'm sure your decorating is finished by now.  Have you incorporated something new this year?  Perhaps a little sparkle and shimmer?

All images are straight from the camera without editing.  You may click on any to enlarge.  Visit other straight shooters here:  http://www.murrieta365.com/

Shadow Shot Sunday/SOOC

This photo was taken late one afternoon in November.  It is the shadowy cast of the window and blinds on this landscape painting.  Without touch up it's a bit subtle to see but I can submit this for SOOC (Straight Out of the Camera) - no alterations made.  I like the shadowy effect here so I am also using this for Shadow Shot Sunday.

This is the same painting without the sun's rays on it.  The portion shown in the previous photo consisted of the lane and the trees on the right hand side primarily.

Vancouver in the Fall

My son, S, has a great view of downtown Vancouver and in the distance the harbour and the mountains!  Who wouldn't want to be there?  Thank you S for the wonderful photo!

I am taking part in Shadow Shot Sunday, http://heyharriet.blogspot.com/ and Straight Out of the Camera (SOOC) http://www.murrieta365.com/search/label/SOOC%20Sunday . Take a moment to visit more shadowy figures and untouched, straight from the camera photos at these two links.  You'll like what you see!
