The wind Tuesday night was crazy here. So crazy that it blew the barbecue that requires three people to move it, clear across the deck. From one side to the other. There was no propane tank inside it at the time, which is probably a good thing. I heard the ruckus and the howls of the wind woke me several times during the night, but never would I have imagined I'd find the barbecue on the east side of the deck, snugged up in between the wrought iron chair and the deck railing.
Wow! That was some wind! Oddly enough, a lot of the trees still have their leaves, including the tower poplars in the back yard. The garbage can was blown off the deck too, landing at the side of the house. Who would have thought that items up near the house would get rearranged but furniture away from it and unsheltered would remain in the same spot? Neighbours garbage put our the night before hadn't budged! Selective wind, that's what it was!

I'd seen the forecast for high winds and was hoping there wouldn't be any major damage. How odd that some things were blown all about and yet the leaves on the trees are still there. High winds are really scary, glad you came through it all unharmed.
We welcomed the wind to help us get the crop in but put the deck furniture away before the wind blew. Are you ready for the snow today?
Sheila, I knew the snow was coming but didn't want to believe it! But upon my daughter's announcement that it had indeed arrived, I hurried outdoors, jacket over my pjs, to cover the bbq, bring in the outdoor rugs, and put the hose and sprinkler in the shed. I had more outdoor projects in mind but didn't get around to them. What do you think the chances are that the snow will stay?
Karen, I am glad it wasn't worse. So this morning I repositioned the bbq to a spot against the deck rail on the east side hoping the wind will not decide to blow from the east and do the same moving again! I had to scramble this morning to bring in the outdoor rugs and put the hose and sprinkler away. It's snowing! Of all the nerve!! It's forecasted to do more of the same next week too so it'll likely stick around for the rest of the fall/winter now. If you could see me you'd know how much I don't like that idea. (pouting). Of course, my blog posts about winter will allude to the same.
Thanks for your kind thoughts and wishes!
