Wishing I Was There...

My husband has family visiting from out of country but he had to travel south to see them. Unfortunately I couldn't get away due to work.  He sent me these photos this morning of the trip they made to Waterton Lakes National Park....without me!  Ugh.....

Fall Colour Project 2013

Above photos were taken near Hillspring, Waterton Lakes National Park, Red Rock Canyon, Edmonton, Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park (Edmonton), and Red Willow Park (St. Albert) between September 2013 and today.

I fell in love with the gazebo, above, located in the Red Willow Park rose garden.

Red Rock Canyon, Waterton Lakes National Park

Above, Cameron Falls in Waterton Lakes National Park

In this famous canyon the rock is red, thus its name.  The river/creek running through it was at the lowest I have ever seen it.  En route to the canyon, we saw two bears - one black and one cinnamon both of which were foraging berries on the mountainside.  My photos did not turn out well enough to post.

The bridge in the preceding and following photos is the same bridge, just different view points.  The trees were just beginning to turn colour on September long weekend.

I am joining Sunday Bridges at San Francisco Bay Daily Photo.

Autumn is Reflection

Waterton National Park
If winter is slumber and spring is birth, and summer is life, then autumn rounds out to be reflection. It's a time of year when the leaves are down and the harvest is in and the perennials are gone. Mother Earth just closed up the drapes on another year and it's time to reflect on what's come before.

Sky Watch Friday in Waterton Lakes National Park

Is there anything more majestic than the Rocky Mountains of Alberta and British Columbia?  Today's Sky Watch Friday photos were taken in Waterton Lakes National Park in southwestern Alberta.  The southern-most portion of the park shares the US Border located in Glacier National Park.  These photos are of the Canadian side.

Where were you sky watching this week?

Today's Watery Wednesdays photos were taken the weekend of Canadian Thanksgiving at Waterton Lakes National Park in southwest Alberta, Canada.  It was cool, windy and wonderful!

Waterton Lakes National Park in October

It has been  years since I had the pleasure of a visit to Waterton Lakes National Park in southwest Alberta and I have to say, as we drove through the entrance gate and into the townsite, I sighed with joy.  It felt like going home!  How I have missed the mountains!!  I am including a few snapshots so you can see the grand beauty of my favourite Alberta mountainous park.  Enjoy!

Do you have a favourite place that feels like coming home?
