By Dawn's Early Light
We've been here at our new home since the first week of February and today was the first chance to see a sunrise out our bedroom window. Since I am at work so early weekdays and last weekend was cloudy, I was sure to take advantage of this opportunity!
Time was approximately 7:47am as the first photo was taken.
We are so fortunate to have an open field directly across the street from us and the entire area is relatively newly developed, as evidenced by the equipment in the photo below.
This was definitely an asset when we viewed the house. I stood at the bedroom window and called to my husband to come look. It was evening, dark and calm. As we looked out the window together, realizing we would see the sunrise through that very window every morning, we knew we wanted to live here.

Good Morning!
I had an early wake-up call this morning.
At 5:30 am today my husband woke me to see this:
Such a glorious wake up call! [thank you J for waking me :)]
If ever you doubt God exists,
you just need to see gifts like these that he shares just for you.
What a wonderful world!
Come back Friday to see more incredible shots of this morning's sunrise.
(you haven't seen anything yet!)
Shortly following this,
we had a terrific short-lived storm with thunder, lightning and rain.
Some areas received hail, fortunately we didn't.
Have a terrific week everyone!

There's No Time Like Dawn....
May 30: Monday morning sunrise shortly after 5am. Sometimes it pays to be up so early. You may catch glorious sunrises like this one and the beauty of it is, no one else is up and the world is just awakening. The chatter of the local birds accents the dawn while the early light slowly touches the earth, brightening dim corners and accenting the dew. How I love this time of day!

It's a Beautiful Morning
Though the day was cloudy, the sunrise cheered me.
Photo taken Wednesday morning, approximately 5:45 am.

Sky Watch Friday - Sunrise
Wednesday's sunrise. You can tell it is cold here, about -20 Celsius, the morning this was taken.
Look skyward, enjoy the beauty that nature blesses us with. Each morning the sun rises, a new day, new opportunities, new beginnings. Follow this meme, Sky Watch Friday http://skyley.blogspot.com/ here.

Sky Watch Friday
Looking out the front window shortly after 8 am. The sky is powder blue with washes of pinks from the sunrise to the east (to the right in the photo).
Now, with the back door propped open and freezing my petutee off, the following photos are taken just minutes later.

Here a magpie soars overhead.
Looking to the west the pinks and corals of the sunrise brighten the early morning sky.
Don`t you just love sunrises like this?

Skywatch Friday - Dawn Breaks on a Wintery Morning
The sun is just rising Sunday morning. The weather is noticeably changing. There is a nip in the air. Yet the day was still pleasant.
The colours change as the sky lightens with the sun's rays. That was then.
Then Tuesday morning, the s... word. Yes, here it is again. I wonder if it, the snow ("s" word), will stick around now. The forecast for all of Alberta for this week has been rather bleak. Southern Alberta had winter storm advisories, a main highway had zero visibility Tuesday morning due to blowing snow, and here, in Edmonton, negative double digits for highs! Alas, winter has announced its arrival.
What is the weather like around the world? Are you needing a bit of sunshine in an otherwise grey day? You'll be sure to get a lift when you visit http://skyley.blogspot.com/

Sky's Ablaze
I am up early, not unusual for me, and as I sit in the living room I see the white drapes bathed in a red glow. The sky this morning is ablaze with the sunrise and it illuminates the house at 7am. I managed one photo of the beauty. Mornings like this you cannot help be grateful for all your blessings. To be blessed to see such magnificance is a gift indeed. Have a great day everyone!
