Shorter Days
Shorter days bring shadows where once there were none. Leaves of Swedish Columnar Aspen scattered on the ground intermingle with the shadow of the Mountain Ash. I contribute this photo to Shadow Shot Sunday:
Yes, the shadows are longer and weaker up North, especially on the Albertan plains. The the few leaves sit quietly on the green lawn, maybe awaiting their seasonal blanket of snow...
What a wonderful keepsake for when it's covered in white...is that an Empress lily on your 'about me' photo? When I first moved to Florida, I had this strange vine growing up and around my Confederate jasmine, I left it because I was curious, my Mom said it's just a weed(she's not a gardener)pull it up...but when it finally bloomed I was astonished and soon had these wonderful flowers everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE!!!
Down there it's invasive, but I allowed it to invade all it wanted(within reason)!!!

Yep, days are shorter and we're about to lose an hour of photographic light. Nice shadows, I like how they go from crisp to diffused.
Nice to see you still have green grass! I think you have better weather than we do right now. :)
I love the scattering of leaves on the shadow branches. Nice lawn you have there, too.
Ooooh I'm envious of your well-kept lawn. I wish mine looked like that! Lovely shadows you captured.
I hope you have a great week :)
Bye bye summer...
Happy Sunday!
