Skywatch Friday - Early Winter Morning

Dawn on an winter's morning this week.

You cannot see the sunrise here until about 8:30 am now.  We don't quite have 12 hours of sunlight each day.  Now that the shortest day of the year, December 21, has passed daylight hours will be more abundant.  I am really looking forward to the longer days of light and warmth.  Though the warmth will be a few months coming.

Today the forecast is -8 Celsius.  Wednesday and Thursday were -20 Celsius.  Snow is also in the forecast.  What is the weather like where you are?  I hope you are all warm and safe whereever you are.  Joining the Sky Watch meme http://skyley.blogspot.com/ .

Happy Sky Watch Friday and Happy New Year, it has been a bit overcast here but always appreciate the view of a crisp blue sky highlighted with the lines of white branches. Have a great weekend.

Brrr..looks pretty chilly in Edmonton! Our days are getting longer too...minute by minute...as in it's 4:46 PM and now time to turn on the lights. (Yay! Yesterday it was 4:43)

The good thing about short days is the dog doesn't wake us up as early!
Weather down here in the southeastern corner of the province is similar to yours right now.
Sigh.
All the best for 2011.

Now that's cold!
It was 64 degrees today here on the Algarve with thunder and rain. But clearing long enough for a walk on the beach!
Thank you for your comment, I love hearing from you!
Happy New Year!
